Steps to Create a Metallic or Marble Epoxy Floor

Achieving a high-quality metallic epoxy finish requires careful preparation and consistent application. The exact products, mixing ratios, coverage rates and curing times should always follow the manufacturer's technical data sheet.

1. Prepare the concrete: Mechanically grind or otherwise suitably prepare the substrate to remove contaminants, weak concrete, existing coatings and surface laitance. Check for moisture and address any moisture-related issues before coating.
2. Repair cracks and imperfections: Repair cracks, holes and damaged areas using a suitable epoxy repair compound such as Sikadur 31 CFN. Larger damaged areas may require a suitable repair mortar.
