NOTE

  • Sikaflex PRO can be over-painted with most conventional facade coating paint systems. However, paints must first be tested to ensure compatibility by carrying out preliminary trials (e.g. according to ISO technical paper: Paintability and Paint Compatibility of Sealants). The best over-painting results are obtained when the sealant is allowed to fully cure first.

Note: non-flexible paint systems may impair the elasticity of the sealant and lead to cracking of the paint film

  • Colour variations may occur due to exposure to chemicals, high temperatures and/or UV-radiation
(especially with the colour shade white). However, a change in colour is purely of aesthetic nature and does not adversely influence the technical performance or durability of the product.
  • Do not use Sikaflex PRO on natural stone.Do not use Sikaflex PRO on bituminous substrates, natural rubber, EPDM rubber or on any building materials which might bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents that could attack the sealant.
  • Do not use Sikaflex PRO to seal joints in and around
    swimming pools.
  • Do not use Sikaflex PRO for joints under water pressure or for permanent water immersion.
  • Do not expose uncured Sikaflex PRO to alcohol containing products as this may interfere with the curing reaction.

1. What is Sikaflex PRO used for?

Sikaflex PRO is a 1-component, moisture-curing, elastic joint sealant suitable for movement and connection joints on porous substrates. It can be used for both indoor and outdoor sealing applications, providing flexibility and durability.

2. Can Sikaflex PRO be painted over?

Yes, Sikaflex PRO can be over-painted with most conventional facade coating paint systems. For best results, allow the sealant to fully cure and test the paint for compatibility, as non-flexible paints may crack when applied over the sealant.

3. What surfaces should I avoid using Sikaflex PRO on?

Do not use Sikaflex PRO on natural stone, bituminous substrates, natural rubber, EPDM rubber, swimming pools, or any materials that may bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents. It is also not suitable for joints under water pressure or permanent water immersion.

4. How flexible is Sikaflex PRO?

Sikaflex PRO has a movement capability of ±25% (ASTM C 719), making it ideal for joints that expand and contract due to temperature changes or structural movement.

5. What colours are available for Sikaflex PRO?

Sikaflex PRO comes in a wide range of colours including White, Off White, Sandstone, Pale Brown, Japan Beige, Grey, Dark Grey, Brick Red, Redwood, Black, and Dark Amber, allowing it to blend with most substrates.

6. How long does Sikaflex PRO last and how should it be stored?

The sealant has a shelf life of 12 months from the production date if stored in its original, undamaged, sealed packaging under proper conditions. Exposure to chemicals, high temperatures, or UV light may cause colour changes, but these are purely aesthetic and do not affect performance.

Colour Accuracy Disclaimer: We have taken care to display the most accurate visuals of our products. However, we are not responsible for the colour accuracy of the device you are viewing our swatches on. These variations arise due to different computer monitors and devices (make, model and technology, as well as resolution, contrast and brightness control settings) in much the same way a scan will differ from an original image and a colour photocopy. Furthermore, coatings can exhibit variation in perceived colour depending on gloss level and application method. If you require a very specific colour match, please make your selection via actual swatches and colour boards available at our showroom.

Product Disclaimer: Ensure you read all product, technical and safety data sheets prior to application as liability falls on the applicator. All products must be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended method.
