High-Strength, Multi-Purpose Grout for Critical Applications

Sikadur-42 HP is a three-component, high-strength, multi-purpose, moisture-tolerant epoxy grouting system. It's designed for grouting applications with depths up to 150 mm and is ideal for supporting and fixing high-demand equipment.

Uses:

  • Precision seating of baseplates
  • Grouting under equipment, including heavy impact and vibratory machinery, reciprocating engines, compressors, pumps, presses, etc.
  • Grouting under crane rails

Characteristics and Advantages:

  • Low peak exotherm.
  • Low dusting, ready-to-mix, pre-proportioned kits.
  • Moisture insensitive.
  • Corrosion and impact resistant.
  • Stress and chemical resistant.
  • High compressive, tensile and shear strengths.
  • High vibration resistance.
  • Low coefficient of thermal expansion, compatible with concrete.
  • Material does not require heated transportation.

Product Information:

  • Chemical Base: Epoxy resin
  • Packaging: 36 kg kit (Part A: 5 kg, Part B: 1 kg, Part C: 30 kg) - *Note: Packaging can vary, refer to local datasheet.*
  • Colour: Concrete grey

Application Information:

  • Mixing Ratio (A:B:C by weight): 1.67 : 0.33 : 10 (Standard), Adjustable for flowability.
  • Yield: 36 kg kit yields approximately 16.9 litres of grout.
  • Layer Thickness: Minimum 10 mm, Maximum 150 mm per pour.
  • Ambient Temperature: +10°C min. / +30°C max.
  • Substrate Temperature: +10°C min. / +30°C max. (at least 3°C above dew point)
  • Pot Life (200g mix at +23°C): ~75-80 minutes

Application Instructions:

Substrate Quality: Mortar and concrete must be older than 28 days (dependent on minimum strength requirements). Verify the substrate strength. The substrate surface must be clean, dry and free from contaminants. Steel substrates must be de-rusted to a standard equivalent to Sa 2.5.

Substrate Preparation: Remove dust, laitance, oils, grease, curing compounds, impregnations, waxes, foreign particles, coatings, and disintegrated materials by mechanical means. All anchor pockets or sleeves must be free of water. Blastcleaning metal base plates to SA 2.5 for maximum adhesion.

Mixing: Mix components A and B in the component A pail for 3 min with a paddle attached to a low speed drill (300-450 rpm). Slowly add the contents of component C dependent on flow requirements and mix until uniform and homogeneous (approx. 5 min). Mix only the quantity which can be used within its pot life.

Application Method / Tools: Pour the mixed grout into the prepared forms from one or two sides only to eliminate air entrapment. Maintain the liquid head to ensure intimate contact to the base plate. Place sufficient epoxy grout in the forms to rise slightly above the underside (3 mm) of the base plate. For voids > 150 mm, apply in successive lifts. Once hardened, check adhesion by tapping.

Cleaning of Equipment: Sweep excess grout before hardening. Uncured material can be removed with Sika Colma Cleaner. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.

Colour Accuracy Disclaimer: We have taken care to display the most accurate visuals of our products. However, we are not responsible for the colour accuracy of the device you are viewing our swatches on. These variations arise due to different computer monitors and devices (make, model and technology, as well as resolution, contrast and brightness control settings) in much the same way a scan will differ from an original image and a colour photocopy. Furthermore, coatings can exhibit variation in perceived colour depending on gloss level and application method. If you require a very specific colour match, please make your selection via actual swatches and colour boards available at our showroom.

Product Disclaimer: Ensure you read all product, technical and safety data sheets prior to application as liability falls on the applicator. All products must be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended method.
