Economical Cement-Based Screed for Under Tile Applications
Sika Eco Systems Eco Screed is a preblended cement-based screed formulated for economical under tile applications. It consists of selected graded aggregates, portland cement, and special additives.
Uses:
Sika Eco Systems Eco Screed can be used as:
- A bonded screed from 15mm to 100mm in a single application.
- An unbonded screed from 40mm to 100mm in a single application.
- Suitable for internal and external use.

Storage conditions: Store off ground in dry, cool conditions (high humidity will reduce shelf life).

Application Information:

Mixing ratio: 1.8 - 2.1 Litres of clean water per 20kg bag.

Consumption: 1 bag mixed with 2 Litres of water covers approximately 1m² at 10mm thickness.

Layer thickness:
- Bonded: Minimum 15mm - 100mm
- Unbonded: 40mm - 100mm

Pot Life: Approximately 2 hours at 23°C & 50% RH
Important Considerations:
- Performance may be compromised above 35°C and below 5°C.
- Do not apply over substrates subject to shrinkage after application.
- Designed to be covered by tiles, not left exposed.
- Efflorescence is beyond the manufacturer's control.
- Expansion joints must be installed as per AS ISO 3958.1-2007.
Application Instructions:
Equipment: Slow speed mixing drill & pail, cement mixer, or forced drum mixer (forced drum or cement mixer recommended).
Substrate Quality / Pre-treatment: Substrates must be properly cured, structurally sound, clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Prepare the surface adequately (water blasting, scarification, or blast cleaning) to ensure adhesion. Concrete with >35MPa requires mechanical preparation.
Mixing: Slowly add powder to clean, cool water and mix to a semi-dry consistency for 2-3 minutes. Use immediately after mixing.
