Sikadur-55 SLV - Super Low Viscosity Epoxy Crack Healer & Sealer

Moisture-Tolerant Resin for Concrete Repair

Sikadur-55 SLV is a 2-component, 100% solids, moisture-tolerant epoxy resin formulated as a super low-viscosity crack healer and penetrating sealer. It features a fast tack-free time to minimize downtime and is designed for effectively sealing both dry and damp cracks in concrete. This product conforms to ASTM C-881 Types I and II, Grade-1, Class-C* and AASHTO M-235 specifications.

* except for gel time

Uses:

Sikadur-55 SLV is ideal for application by suitably experienced and trained specialist contractors for:

  • Structurally repairing cracked concrete.
  • Interior and exterior above-grade slabs.
  • Elevated horizontal decks, parking garages, and other structures exposed to foot and pneumatic tire traffic.

Characteristics and Advantages:

  • Super low viscosity/low surface tension for excellent penetration into cracks down to 0.05 mm.
  • Prolongs the life of cracked concrete.
  • Penetrates and seals the surface of slabs against water absorption, chloride-ion intrusion, and chemical attack.
  • Structurally improves concrete surfaces.
  • Can be open to traffic in 6 hours at 23°C.
  • High bond strength, even in damp cracks.
  • U.S. Patent No. for ultra-low viscosity healer/sealer.

Approvals / Certificates:

  • Meets Vic Roads Spec Section 687- Repair of Concrete Cracks

Product Information:

  • Packaging: 11.3 Litre kit.
  • Colour: Clear, Amber
  • Shelf life: 2 years in original, unopened containers.
  • Storage conditions: Store dry at 4°C - 35°C. Condition material to 18°C - 24°C before using.
  • Density: ~1.1 kg / litre approx.
  • Viscosity (at 23°C): ~105 cps
  • Mixing Ratio (by volume): Component 'A' : Component 'B' = 2 : 1
  • Pot Life: ~20 minutes
  • Contact Time: > 6 hr at 23°C (refer to datasheet for other temperatures)

Consumption:

3.7 to 4.3 m² / litre for surface sealing.

Application:

Substrate Preparation: Substrate must be clean, sound, and free of surface moisture. Remove contaminants by mechanical means. For best results, the substrate should be dry. Allow 24 hrs drying for water-cleaned surfaces at 23°C minimum.

Mixing: Mix 1 part Component ‘B’ to 2 parts Component ‘A’ by volume thoroughly for 3 minutes using a low-speed mixer until uniformly blended. Mix only what can be used within the pot life.

Application Method: For gravity feeding cracks on horizontal surfaces, apply with a flat squeegee or broom, allowing it to pond over cracks for penetration. Remove excess epoxy with a roller, leaving no visible surface film. For cracks > 3 mm, fill with oven-dried sand before application. Seal cracks from the underside if accessible. A second treatment may be needed for porous substrates. For broadcast, apply the second treatment before broadcasting oven-dried 20/40 silica sand to excess (1.5-2.0 kg/m²). Allow to cure for 6 hours minimum at 23°C before removing loose sand and opening to traffic.

Important Considerations:

  • Do not thin. Solvents prevent proper cure.
  • Material is a vapour barrier after cure.
  • Do not apply if rain is imminent. Water/humidity can affect surface appearance.
  • Not an aesthetic product. Colour may alter. Blotchy appearance possible on sealed concrete.
  • Allow sufficient drying time after wet conditions.
  • Substrate temperature must be ≥ 3°C above dew point.
  • Minimum ambient/substrate temperature 4°C, maximum 35°C.
  • Do not inject cracks > 6 mm.
  • Minimum concrete age: 21-28 days.
  • Not for sealing/injecting cracks under hydrostatic pressure during application.

Colour Accuracy Disclaimer: We have taken care to display the most accurate visuals of our products. However, we are not responsible for the colour accuracy of the device you are viewing our swatches on. These variations arise due to different computer monitors and devices (make, model and technology, as well as resolution, contrast and brightness control settings) in much the same way a scan will differ from an original image and a colour photocopy. Furthermore, coatings can exhibit variation in perceived colour depending on gloss level and application method. If you require a very specific colour match, please make your selection via actual swatches and colour boards available at our showroom.

Product Disclaimer: Ensure you read all product, technical and safety data sheets prior to application as liability falls on the applicator. All products must be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended method.
