  • Resistance to weathering (23 °C and 50 % R.H.): Excellent (ASTM D-412, ASTM C-920)

Application Information:

Consumption (Joint length per 600 ml foil pack):

  • 10 mm width x 10 mm depth: 6 m
  • 15 mm width x 10 mm depth: 4 m
  • 20 mm width x 10 mm depth: 3 m
  • 25 mm width x 12 mm depth: 2 m
  • 30 mm width x 15 mm depth: 1.3 m

Backing material: Use closed cell polyethylene foam backing rods.

Curing rate: Tack-free Time: 1 to 2 hours (depending on climate), Final Cure: 3 to 5 days.

Application Instructions:

Substrate Preparation: All surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, dry and free from grease, oil, wax, dust and surface contaminants. For optimum adhesion on non-porous and porous substrates in critical applications, priming may be required. Refer to the datasheet for detailed priming instructions for various materials.

Application Method / Tools: Masking tape is recommended for neat joint lines. Insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth. Prime surfaces as recommended. Prepare the cartridge/foil pack and nozzle. Extrude Sikaflex-11 FC into the joint ensuring full contact with the sides and avoiding air entrapment. Tool sealant firmly against joint sides immediately after application using Sika Tooling Agent N for a smooth finish. Do not use solvent-containing tooling products.

Cleaning of Equipment: Clean tools immediately after use with Sika Remover-208 and / or Sika Colma Cleaner. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. For skin cleaning, use Sika Hand Wipes.

Important Considerations:

  • Allow 5 day cure at standard conditions when using Sikaflex-11 FC in total water immersion applications.
  • Preliminary tests are recommended when overpainting. Non-flexible paints may impair elasticity.
  • Avoid exposure to high levels of chlorine (max 5ppm).
  • Maximum sealant depth: 12 mm, minimum depth: 6 mm (as joint sealant).
  • Maximum expansion/contraction should not exceed 12.5% of average joint width.
  • Do not apply when moisture-vapor-transmission condition exists from the substrate. Avoid air entrapment during application.
  • Permit sufficient exposure to air for moisture curing.
  • White may discolour/yellow slightly when exposed to UV rays.
  • Proper application, design, and surface preparation are crucial for ultimate performance.
  • Not for use in expansion joints, on bituminous substrates, natural rubber, EPDM, or materials that may leach oils, plasticisers, or solvents.
  • Do not use to seal joints in and around swimming pools.
  • Do not expose uncured Sikaflex-11 FC to alcohol-containing products and solvent cleaners.

Colour Accuracy Disclaimer: We have taken care to display the most accurate visuals of our products. However, we are not responsible for the colour accuracy of the device you are viewing our swatches on. These variations arise due to different computer monitors and devices (make, model and technology, as well as resolution, contrast and brightness control settings) in much the same way a scan will differ from an original image and a colour photocopy. Furthermore, coatings can exhibit variation in perceived colour depending on gloss level and application method. If you require a very specific colour match, please make your selection via actual swatches and colour boards available at our showroom.

Product Disclaimer: Ensure you read all product, technical and safety data sheets prior to application as liability falls on the applicator. All products must be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended method.
