Fast Curing, Food Grade Approved Polyurethane Floor Coating 

Sikafloor-24 PurCem is a water-based, coloured polyurethane hybrid floor coating approved for food-grade environments. This fast-curing system can be applied to create a smooth or textured, matt, impervious, and hard-wearing surface, typically at a thickness of 1.5–3.0 mm. It's ideal for new floors or rapid refurbishment of existing resin-based floors in various industrial and commercial settings.

Application Information:

• Mixing ratio: Mix full units only
• Consumption: ~1.75 kg/m²/mm
• Layer thickness: Scratch coat (0.5-1.0mm), Smooth system (1.5-2.0mm), Textured system (2.0-3.0 mm)
• Ambient air/Substrate temperature: +10 °C min. / +40 °C max.
• Relative air humidity: 85 % max.
• Substrate moisture content: Can be installed on substrates with higher moisture content (visibly dry, min 1.5 N/mm² pull-off strength)

Important Considerations:

• Do not apply to PCC mortars that may expand due to moisture.
• Ensure good ventilation during application in confined spaces.
• Protect freshly applied coating from damp, condensation, and direct water contact for at least 24 hours.
• Do not apply to cracked or unsound substrates.
• Allow a minimum of 48 hours after application before placing in service near foodstuffs.
• Discolouration may occur with UV exposure but does not affect performance.
• Avoid scrubbing with water for the first three days after application.

Application Instructions:

Substrate Quality / Pre-treatment: Surface must be clean, dry, free of contaminants, and have a pull-off strength ≥ 1.5 N/mm². Remove all dust and loose material. Test area recommended if unsure.

Mixing: Premix Part A (with Part D for colour). Add Part B and mix for 30 seconds. Gradually add Part C (aggregate) using a double paddle mixer for at least 2 minutes. Scrape down sides and bottom to ensure complete mixing.

Application: Apply as a scratch coat with a steel trowel or as a body coat with a toothed trowel, pin screed, or steel trowel. Remove air with a spike roller. For textured floors, broadcast aggregate to excess and remove after hardening. Apply Sikafloor 31 or 33 PurCem finish coats as needed. Follow application guidelines strictly.

Cleaning of Equipment: Clean all tools with Thinner C immediately after use. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
