This single-pack, moisture-curing elastomeric waterproofing membrane forms a seamless, flexible and highly durable waterproof layer suitable for foot traffic and demanding environments.
Ideal for balcony waterproofing, terrace waterproofing and exposed concrete decks, Sikalastic-488 provides excellent resistance to ponding water, cracking and substrate movement.
Used as the base membrane within the SikaRoof MTC-UV waterproofing systems, it creates a long-lasting, trafficable waterproof barrier for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Application Instructions
Surface Preparation
All substrates must be clean, sound, smooth and free from dust, oil or contaminants. Proper surface preparation is essential for optimal adhesion and waterproofing performance.

Mixing
Sikalastic-488 is supplied ready to use. Stir thoroughly until a uniform consistency is achieved before application.
Application
Apply the membrane using a brush or roller to the required system thickness based on the selected SikaRoof MTC-UV specification.
Allow a minimum curing time of 16 hours (or until tack-free) before applying additional layers.
Maximum recoat time: 48 hours.
If exceeded, the surface must be lightly abraded and reactivated with Sika Thinner C before applying the next coat.
Foot Traffic
Light foot traffic is possible after 24 hours under normal curing conditions.
Cleaning
Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with Sika Thinner C before the membrane cures.
