Moisture Tolerant, High Strength Structural Epoxy Adhesive and Repair Mortar

Sikadur-31 CF Normal is a moisture-tolerant, thixotropic, structural 2-component adhesive and repair mortar based on epoxy resins and special fillers. Designed for use between +10 °C and +30 °C, this high-strength adhesive offers excellent adhesion to most construction materials and is non-sagging for vertical and overhead applications.

As a structural adhesive and mortar for bonding:

Product Information:

  • Composition: Epoxy resin
  • Packaging: 6 kg (A+B), 30 kg (A+B) pre-batched units
  • Shelf life: 24 months from date of production
  • Storage conditions: Dry conditions, +5 °C to +30 °C, in original, unopened packaging, protected from direct sunlight
  • Colour: Component A (white), Component B (dark grey), Mixed (concrete grey)
  • Density (Mixed A+B at +23°C): 1.90 ± 0.1 kg/l (evacuated)

Application Information:

  • Mixing ratio (A:B by weight or volume): 2 : 1
  • Consumption: ~ 1.9 kg/m² per mm of thickness
  • Layer thickness: 2 mm min. / 30 mm max.
  • Sag flow: Non-sag up to 15 mm thickness on vertical surfaces
  • Material/Ambient air/Substrate temperature: +10 °C min. / +30 °C max.
  • Substrate moisture content: Dry or mat damp (no standing water)
  • Pot Life (200 g):
    • +10 °C: ~ 145 minutes
    • +23 °C: ~ 55 minutes
    • +30 °C: ~ 35 minutes

Application Instructions:

Substrate Quality: Concrete/mortar (>28 days), masonry, natural stone must be sound, clean, dry or mat damp, and free of contaminants. Steel should be de-rusted to Sa 2.5.

Substrate Preparation: Clean surfaces thoroughly by mechanical means (blast cleaning, etc.) to achieve a laitance and contaminant-free, open-textured surface.

Mixing: Mix pre-batched components A+B for at least 3 minutes with a slow-speed mixer until a uniform grey colour and smooth consistency are achieved. Avoid aeration. Re-mix in a clean container for another minute.

Application: Apply adhesive with a spatula, trowel, or notched trowel. For repair mortar, use formwork. Support bonded metal profiles on vertical surfaces for at least 12 hours. Check adhesion after hardening.

Cleaning of Equipment: Clean tools immediately with Sika Colma Cleaner. Cured material can only be removed mechanically.
