Premium Sprayable Adhesive for Laminate Fabrication and Bonding

SikaBond-105 Contact Fix is a premium sprayable contact adhesive formulated for diverse laminate fabrication needs. It offers a fast drying time and creates a strong, heat-resistant, and water-resistant bond.

Uses:

SikaBond-105 Contact Fix has a broad adhesion range and provides a strong, lasting bond on substrates such as timber, rubber sheets, plastic laminates, fabric, cloth-backed and polyester-backed vinyl, MDF, particleboard, concrete, glass, and metal sheets.

In transport vehicle production, it's suitable for room temperature contact bonding of PUR foams, textiles, adjoining steps, wheel arches, seat brackets, and side walls, especially for materials with high spring-back forces like cover trims and edging profiles. It's also suitable for auto and furniture upholstery. Always test on actual substrates to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

Characteristics / Advantages:

  • One-component adhesive
  • Very short flash-off time
  • High initial strength
  • Easy to apply
  • Resistant to aging
  • High heat resistance
  • Broad adhesion range
  • Fast dry time (approximately 3-5 minutes)

Product Information:

  • Composition: One-component polychloroprene
  • Packaging: 500ml, 1L, 4L Can; 20L Pail

  • Solid content by mass (approx.): 17%
  • Consistency (approx.): 350 mPa.s
  • Consumption: 6 - 8 m²/Litre

Important Considerations:

  • Do not use below +10°C as condensation may prevent bonding.
  • For best results, apply at +20°C (atmosphere, material, and adhesive).
  • Avoid excessive adhesive application, pooling, or premature joining of substrates to prevent trapped solvents and weak bonds.
  • Coverage, evaporation time, open time, and press time depend on the materials and environmental conditions.
  • For open weave or porous materials, spray application is recommended to prevent adhesive bleed-through.
  • Use opened containers quickly.

Application Instructions:

Substrate Preparation: Adhesion surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of oils, fats, loose, and friable materials.

Application Method / Tools: Apply evenly to both surfaces using a suitable roll-coater, tooth-comb, brush, or spray gun. Wait until touch dry (normally 3-5 minutes depending on conditions), then bring materials together with strong, even pressure. Avoid adhesive pooling to prevent weak bonds due to trapped solvents.

Cleaning of Equipment: Uncured SikaBond-105 ContactFix can be removed with Sika Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. Wash hands with Sika Handclean towel or a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water (do not use solvents).

Colour Accuracy Disclaimer: We have taken care to display the most accurate visuals of our products. However, we are not responsible for the colour accuracy of the device you are viewing our swatches on. These variations arise due to different computer monitors and devices (make, model and technology, as well as resolution, contrast and brightness control settings) in much the same way a scan will differ from an original image and a colour photocopy. Furthermore, coatings can exhibit variation in perceived colour depending on gloss level and application method. If you require a very specific colour match, please make your selection via actual swatches and colour boards available at our showroom.
