1. What is Flowcoat OP used for?
Flowcoat OP is a high-performance, solvent-free epoxy coating designed for durable industrial floors. It provides a protective, coloured finish with good chemical and abrasion resistance and can be used as a stand-alone coating or as part of a Flowcrete resin flooring system.
2. Is Flowcoat OP suitable for industrial flooring?
Yes. Flowcoat OP is designed for hard-wearing industrial environments where a durable, protective epoxy floor coating is required. It is available in smooth and non-slip finish specifications.
3. What finishes are available with Flowcoat OP?
Flowcoat OP can be specified in 0.3 mm smooth, 0.35 mm light non-slip and 1.5 mm non-slip finishes. The required finish and coverage rate depend on the project specification and application requirements.
4. How long does Flowcoat OP take to cure?
At 20°C, Flowcoat OP can be overcoated after 8 hours and foot traffic is possible after approximately 24 hours. Vehicular traffic is generally permitted after 72 hours, with full chemical cure achieved after approximately 7 days.
5. How should the floor be prepared before applying Flowcoat OP?
The concrete or screed must be sound, clean and dry, with a minimum strength of 25 N/mm². Surface preparation should include shot blasting or diamond grinding to achieve the required CSP2 profile before applying the epoxy coating.
6. Is Flowcoat OP low odour and solvent free?
Yes. Flowcoat OP is a solvent-free, low-odour epoxy floor coating with approximately 100% solids by weight and a VOC content of 28 g/L, making it suitable for specified industrial flooring applications
